Zebra » AnimalZebras (Equus burchelli) are herd animals and grass eaters, but they are not ruminants. They can reach speeds of up to sixty-five kilometres per hour in flat gallop. They could bite a human arm off with their razor-sharp teeth. They shatter the bones and jawbones of intrusive predators. In captivity zebras can live to the age of thirty-five. In the wild they rarely live longer than twenty-five. No zebra is identical to another. Each pattern of stripes is unique. Zebra always tastes exquisite, a little like horsemeat and a little like game. | |||||||||||
