Antelope » AnimalA large group of tubicorn ruminants, which are closely related to cattle, goats and sheep, makes up the antelope family. The majority of the one hundred and fifty varieties live in Africa. The rest come from Asia. The largest antelope, the eland, can grow up to two metres high. Antelopes strongly resemble deer in both their build and habits but have undivided tubicorn horns that are never shed. Reaching speeds of up to ninety-seven kilometres per hour, the antelope is the fastest quadruped on earth. | |||||||||||
